Hello beauties and welcome (back) to The Glamform!
Today I’m showing you a mascara that took the internet by storm a while ago. It went viral after a Reddit user posted a photo of the before and after. The results looked amazing, so natural I was very excited to give this mascara a try.
The Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara retails for $4.99 and claims to provide you with a false lash effect. The mascara is cruelty-free and super cheap, so if you want to try it out, it won’t break the bank.
The mascara wand is medium sized and it doesn’t look very special to be honest. I’m a huge fan of the L’Oréal Telescopic mascara and Chanel Le Volume. Both of those mascara’s have the hard, plastic kind of wand, so I had to get used to seeing a ‘regular’ wand again.
The mascara wand tends to come out a bit clumpy, so I recommend wiping it a bit before use.
Before and After
In the top picture you can see my lashes without any product or a lash curler. I didn’t curl my lashes before applying the mascara, because I wanted to see whether the mascara would also provide a curl, next to the volume it claims to give.
Can we get a round of applause for this mascara?! That is a massive difference, for only five bucks! My lashes look a lot longer, blacker and they look hella thick. Over the past few weeks I have definitely become a fan! Is it my new favourite mascara? I wouldn’t say so, but it’s definitely worth more than the price and I do find myself reaching for it a lot.
Longevity and final thoughts
The Lash Princess mascara lasts the entire day on me. Sometimes it leaves little black dots underneath my eyes at the end of the day, but I have that issue with most mascara’s. It’s reasonably easy to get the mascara off. If you can, use an oil like jojoba oil to remove it, before using your normal face wash/ make up remover. That will make the process better and it’s beneficial for your lashes.
Taking everything into account, I would rate this mascara a 4 out of 5!
