NYX Love You So Mochi Eye Shadow Palette($19.99) in Electric Pastels is a colourful palette with 10 shimmery shades. It’s a part of the recently launched NYX Love You So Mochi collections, which consists of two eyeshadow palettes, one bright and one neutral toned, and two highlighter palettes. The collection was inspired by mochi, a traditional (delicious) Japanese treat. I had no interest in the other palettes in the collection, but this one really caught my eye. The pops of colour in this palette are simply gorgeous, I can’t think of a shade in it that I don’t like. The texture is like no eyeshadow I’ own, it’s seriously soft and pillowy.
The palette is available here.
NYX palettes don’t have names for the individual shadows, which I find a bit disappointing. It’s always a nice extra touch and it makes swatching easier. These are all 10 shades swatches from the upper left to the bottom right:
The pigmentation is just wonderful and the shadows feel incredibly buttery and soft. While you can create full looks with just this palette, it’s all shimmer and you prefer a matte shade in the crease, you would have to combine this with another palette. For the price and quality I think it’s absolutely worth it.
I’m having so much fun with this palette! This spring-y look is one of the many looks I tried. All colours are from the Mochi palette, I used a little bit of the pink shade in the NYX Ultimate Eyeshadow Palette to give the pink in the crease a bit more of a pop. I have nothing bad to say about this palette, which doesn’t happen often. The shades are catchy and beautiful and they all swatch well. If you use a primer, they last a whole 8 hours without creasing. I’ve tried the palette with both Urban Decay’s Primer Potion($12-$22) and Essence’s I Love Stage Eyeshadow Base($3.49), they both work well, though Urban Decay is better. This palette reminds me of candy and spring, which is really awesome 😉 The affordable price makes everything even better, so I would totally recommend this! Let me know if you already have the palette or if you’re planning on purchasing it!
